DMLS Material Properties – Maraging Steel

Maraging Steel is a Direct Metal Laser Sintering – DMLS material that is characterized by having superior mechanical properties, being easily heat-treatable using a simple thermal age-hardening process to obtain excellent hardness and strength, and can be used in production molds requiring millions of pieces.

Maraging Steel is a commonly used tool steel in Europe, and is ideal for many production tooling applications such as injection molds, die casting of light metal alloys, punching, extrusion, etc.  Furthermore, Maraging Steel is ideal for high performance industrial and engineering parts, seen in the aerospace industry and in the automotive industry.
